I saw that HELMET is playing at the Varsity tomorrow, anyone going? I’m surprised I haven’t seen a post about this here.
The wife and I were out at jazz fest to see Beck today so our babysitting situation is done, but I don’t think I’ve missed a HELMET show since Meantime came out.

I saw Helmet at tips in the early 90s and they fricking rocked. I remember it seemed like the whole building was shaking. Another good one was COC and the rendon Inn.

Caught Helmet a couple of years ago when they did the Betty 20th Anniversary tour along with greatest hits (2 sets). Page was great for a 60 year old dude, although it looked like he was playing with his grandchildren. Good show though and I would have went tonight if I weren't working. Got my fill for the week with the Melvins Thursday night at Spanish Moon.

I was re-listening to 1994’s Whose Fist Is This Anyway? Jesus, was that album ahead of its time or what? That band seemed to have re-invented itself, and it seemed like few noticed.
