You really need to check out Ableton Live. It's not like any other DAW software
I have been looking at it. It might be the answer for me. I've tried a couple of other programs and they are over my head, so I've just kept using my tascam digital recorder. It records well, but you have to actually play everything and punch in with a footswitch to fix stuff. Really takes a lot of time.

Can't say that I've lost it, because I've never had it.

Writing is easy. Writing something that sounds original yet personal, fits with the project you’re working with, and feels so good that you overcome your self-consciousness enough to want to share with others, is VERY difficult. That moment when a new song you came up with first starts to come to life is one of those moments of pure magic that music only can give you.
Before anybody hears any song of mine for the first time, I've already recorded several guitar/vocal versions, different guitar rhythms and adjusting lyrics here and there, until I've got something I'm happy with. That's the hardest part, because I look for every conceivable weakness, especially lyrically.
If I'm doing something with somebody else, I'm not nearly as critical, because I can blame weakness on them

I got bitter and sold everything in my late 20s. I picked things back up at 40 and have been playing regularly since …live and recording stuff.

I live in a city that’s divided musically between hip hop and country.
I play progressive rock and fusion…so yeah…I’m on my own
