17 year old rapper from Brooklyn. Member of the group "Pro Era". Turned down an offer from Jay to join Roc nation. Buzz is huge about this kid

Joey Bada$$-Hardknock

Joey Bada$$-Survival Tactics

Joey Bada$$-DSL

Joey Bada$$-Unorthodox

He's got that 90's sound to him, pretty talented kid. Alot of people compared his 1999 mixtape release to Nas's Illmatic release at the same age. Lofty comparison, but he is pretty dope that much is certain

Apparently he had an incredible showing at SXSW a few weeks back. A few friends that were there said that even if it wasn't your style of music - He was a heckuva performer.

Deffinitly has that 90s vibe to him.

Id like to see him with some better production which will certainly happen if hes on the rise like you say he is

Does he do anything a little more upbeat or energetic? Curious how he would translate like that

That's what I really like about him. His lyrics make the song, not the beat. Unlike pretty much every mainstream rapper out right now.

Joey Bada$$-Dont Front

This is a little more upbeat I guess. The thing about him and his group is they all produce eachother's beats, but like you said as his name rises more big producers will want to work with him. I know he recently did a echo session with Pete Rock, who was a big time producer in the 90's.

Yeah he was quite an intelligent character, extremely troubled, but intelligent. He believed that he was a fallen angel, a sort of god, sent to earth to level the field between good and evil. He thought that he would free people's minds and help everyone reach enlightenment, which he viewed as people having unlimited mental and physical powers.

He also thought that the baphomet (satan) was a entity that represented spiritual enlightenment and alchemy, and that humans were given the gift of alchemy and other things (such as gold for currency) but we poisoned these things with mortal traits such as greed and discrimination.

Overall, the main point of his life and death was that he thought the world would end in the year 2047, and he would come back to save the earth as an un-human entity and restore the energy balance between good and evil. He shot himself on december 23,2012 which adds up to 47 (the year he thought the world would end.

I think he suffered from severe schizophrenia and that was just compounded and made a whole lot worse from excessive weed use. (I believe the weed part because I suffer from depression and when I get super geeked I have some crazy arse dark thoughts like this dude was having, though not as extreme)

Here's a link to a facebook convo for anyone who is interested in reading more about it, its actually a pretty interesting read.

If you think he fuxks with LSD and the third eye stuff you should hear the Underachievers. And yes he has to answer your question, or at least tried too lol. 1999 was mixtape of the year last year IMO
