Makes me long for the days of Foster's Repair in N.O.
On Banks St. down past Jesuit (for those who aren't familiar). Jimmy helped me piece together the parts for my hybrid Strat. Just a phone call away when I had issues with wiring, etc. Can't tell you how many hours I spent in their shop looking at and buying parts.

Wanna bet? Holger Notzel at riverfront music is as good, if not better and a quicker turnaround. Sonny Landreth doesn't deal with those guys because they're just friendly.

riverfront is where I bring my amps. mike there is the best for tube amps.
red stick guitar off of sherwood is ok. kenny there is decent but rubs me the wrong way and I think he's mainly full of shite.

Who is the Kenny guy? That rings a bell. And i am not against going to Laffy or Nawlins for good/semi quick work. I need more than a set up, probably 4 or 5 lower frets replaced and maybe the nut.

I found this thread while I was seeing if my home-brew web site is showing up on Google yet (still learning SEO as I go, this thread tracked higher using keywords "guitar repair Baton Rouge" than my shop's website haha).
My name is Jeff and I do guitar repairs here in Baton Rouge. My shop operation is new but I have good experience, formal training and references. You can learn about me, my venture and how to contact me if you want to talk shop at www.TheFretShack.com; and by searching "The Fret Shack" on Facebook. Thanks for considering me.
