Great albums - horrible artwork

An album boasting perhaps the greatest psychedelic masterpiece of all time in "I Am the Walrus" in addition to the innovativing "Strawberry Fields Forever" (Lennon is obviously peaking very hard here in 1967) yet comes up with utter shite for artwork. This is compounded by the legendary artwork of Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band preceeding it and the minimalist yet instant classic s/t art and then arguably the most iconic cover of all in Abbey Road. I get that Magical Mystery Tour was meant to be simply a soundtrack and grew from there, but a rare misstep by the GOAT right in the middle of their unforgettable run.

It's pretty bad. But I wouldn't be touting Rubber Soul's cover as some great piece of art. The Beatles never really did anything interesting with their album covers until Revolver IMO. Revolver, Sgt Peppers, and Abbey Road are probably their only album covers with good artwork.
