It is a catchy song and a nice video. Not sure the deal with the classification war over it. It appeals to a broad spectrum of people. Like others have mentioned, it is getting overplayed.

They were on SNL and when she walked out I thought the same thing then I saw her chest and knew it wasn't Perry.

I was listening to this song over a year ago and I've been listening to Gotye for nearly 4 years.

Good song...but check out "Heart's A Mess". In fact, watch the youtube video of "Heart's A Mess". It'll blow your mind.

You're damn right I am! I actually take pride in finding good music long before everyone else "discovers" it. That way I can laugh at threads like this! I fricking LOVE being a music snob.

I'll admit it, I like it, but
quote:

badass

isn't exactly the way I'd describe it.

Fact is that Gotye is making music that is completely different than everything else, and that's a good thing considering how awful music has been for about 10 years.

Gotye and Jai Paul are changing music...period.

You'll get nothing but a hearty nod of agreement from me on this, but 'badass' has nothing to do with this song.

A agree. I usually reserve "badass" when Tool drops a new album (which hopefully will be sooner than later).

Gotye is still one of the most promising artists out there.

I wouldn't go that far. You can hear the Sting/Police influence in his music.

I don't listen to the radio, so it isn't killed for me. The whole CD is incredible. Music sounds anywhere from the 60's-70's to current hip hop sounding.
