Anyone know of a good spotify playlist consisting of newer music. So hard for me to find good new music these days. I like pretty much anything. Thanks

Any particular genre?

There are several SXSW playlists out there that will have tons of new artists. I use them to figure out who I want to check out for the festival, however I'd say I usually only enjoy about 1 out of every 4 or 5 songs I hear.

Just search "SXSW" and go to the playlists.

Sorry I should have clarified this. Mostly rock and I do like some hip hop. Some of the newer stuff I heard that i liked was Tame Impala and Chance the Rapper.

If you have Spotify, check out the discover weekly playlist they create for you. They use an algorithm based on your listening habits and it's usually spot on and a great way to find new music. It's 30 songs per week.

Use the Discover Weekly playlist that automatically gets updated by Spotify. The rest of the pre-created Spotify playlists are pretty much garbage

I find a few solid tracks in those, but more than half of what's put on there I don't care for or I've already heard it.

I'm with Coco on this. I rarely use it now because it just doesn't seem to help discover new music. I wish spotify would buy pandora because Pandora's algorithms are way better.

LINK

that's my favorite

If i'm not listening to podcasts, or Stern, i'm listening to this playlist.

If you're looking for something that is strictly newer music, it probably isn't for you.

It has everything from
Allman Brothers
Jason Isbell
Sturgill
Panic
Dead
Chromeo
Talking Heads
Avett Brothers
Drive-by Truckers
Wood Brothers
White Denim
ZZ Top
DMB
Curtis Mayfield
George Strait
Built to Spill
Zeppelin
etc.

Little bit of everything

Or you can just go to SXSW. You can do tons of stuff for free.

Did not know about this and I have had Spotify for two years now. I have recently discovered The Gourds, Vulfpeck, and The Donkeys. All pretty good. Thanks for the tip

Ween just came on. Never heard of them.

Vulfpeck is the shite. I know this thread is a few months old. And this is a huge bump. But it all depends on my mood.

Vulfpeck's Joe Dart is a complete bad arse. You should look him up on YouTube. He has incredible solos.

If you truly like Vulfpeck, listen to Marbin. That's an interest group. It's an intense jazz. That's the best way to describe it honestly. No vocals though.

Haywyre is an EDM artist like no other. He mixes jazz/classical with electronic music. He performs his music live on a keyboard. It's incredible.

GRiZ is more electro, but he usually has a live sax, trombone, trumpet, etc. perform live with him. And it's incredible.

I have more if you need more. But these 4 artists deserve more publicity and I respect them
