Gino Vannelli... Let Us Chat About This Man

I've been listening to some of his stuff on this chilly snow day. The second Caucasian to appear on Soul Train. 
Apparently he's a big draw in New Orleans as well.
Of course there are the easy classics:
"I Just Wanna Stop"
"Living Inside Myself"
And then there are the early recordings that feature more complex musical arrangements, which I'm just now becoming familiar with. Serious synth and percussion work happening in some of these tracks:
"A Good Thing"
"Brother to Brother"
"People Gotta Move"
"Love of My Life"
"Gypsy Days"

For some unknown reason, he has always been extremely popular in No as compared to the rest of the damn world. I used to cover the music scene for my high school paper, and was invited to an interview session with him in 1977. I asked him that very question - he stammered, and then a very large guy asked me to get up and leave the conference room.
