Start from the beginning.

Undertow
1. "Intolerance"
2. "Prison Sex"
3. "Sober"
4. "Bottom" (feat. Henry Rollins) Keenan, Henry Rollins
5. "Crawl Away"
6. "Swamp Song"
7. "Undertow"
8. "4°"
9. "Flood"

Flood doesn't fit. But then it does. It's where they go next.

So light in his way,
Like an apparition,
He had me crying out,
"frick me,
It's gotta be,
Deadhead Chemistry,
The blotter got right on top of me,
Got me seein' E-motherfrickin'-T

I think aenima and lateralus were the best albums but 10k days was at least good with wings of Mary, 10k days and Rosetta stoned. That's like half the album in terms of album length. There was a lot that went into 10k days the song.

I agree you.

I can't agree with link's regarded troll claim that 10,000 Days (the entire album) is just throwaway junk from Lateralus. His bait was far too shiny. He made his troll obvious. No real Tool fan would say "Rosetta Stoned is shite".

10k days has long been discussed as a b-sides album. It's not some new theory that link is trolling. You claim to be some huge tool fan, yet are unaware of this.

So what you're saying is that their best most complex song is throwaway junk?

Makes sense.

Unfortunately not, but will be present at VooDoo fest. Haven't seen them since 2001 on the Lateralus tour at the Kiel Center.

When did I say that Rosetta Stoned was their best and most complex song? You speak like your opinion is gospel. Like I said earlier, you think Leslie Jones is funny, so nobody should take your opinion on anything serious.

i took 15 minutes out of my night to listen to rosetta stoned again. the first big thing that stands out are the talking/rap lyrics. do not like. that's most of the song. the "can't breathe...it was so real" part is actually good, but unfortunately it's less than 10% of the song.

my next beef is that the riffs just sound like lateralus (the album, not the song) part 2, which further reinforces my belief that this album was mostly unused song ideas. subsequent albums each have their own sound, but this one does not. also the album art is basically the same. i'm not one to care about album art, but it's just more evidence that it wants to be lateralus so bad.

you can like it if you want, but to me, 10K days will always be a less inspired continuation of lateralus and a huge disappointment. tool had a good run, but they've overstayed their welcome. they're over 50. they're rich and comfortable. they have side projects. they're not inspired anymore. time to hang it up.

It's not even close IMO.

I remember the day I first put the CD in my car of Lateralus. I was literally blown the frick away.

10,000 days has some great songs as well. Rosetta Stoned already noted. I love The Pot and Right in Two is one of the best Tool songs ever

I remember the day I first heard "Rosetta Stoned". I was literally blown the frick away and listened to that one song on repeat for several months every single day.

Fellas...to be honest, every Tool album blows us away. We can argue which albums/songs are the best, but honestly they're all great and worthy of musical worship.

Maybe not - but is The Holy Gift the best album Tool never released?

I guess I heard about this thing before, but I didn't listen to it until a couple of months ago (maybe) - because of a post on this board.

Starting to think there's something to it, although Maynard denies it.

I will add the the Holy Gift re-ordering of Lateralus takes a great album and makes it an all time great.
