They are popular in Nola for sure. They just don't play often. They'd rather play in front of 400 people once every 3 months than 90 people once a month.

Nt bad, the problem with bands based in New Orleans is most bars they will play at the cove will be very inexpensive so they don't make a lot of money at home. When they go on the road and have a bit of a following the bars charge more. Case in point, at a br like Carrollton Station, when normally at most it may cost $10 to see a goodband, during Jazz Fest that same band will get a $25-$30 cover, due to the fact tourists are in town and are used to paying that for good music. New Orleans' locals are spoiled as they get to hear good music for free or next to nothing.
