Telecaster is enroute. A Squier Classic 50’s. Just got a bonus mixed with a wild hair and a beer while surfing Reverb.

After this one I quit. Lol

Really had a question for you guys and Fret if he will speak to his competition. It comes modded with a 920D set of PUPS and the rest of the guts. Wanted thoughts on these from folks who’ve used or seen these pick ups.

I know the CV Teles are well thought of Squiers.

I've used the 920D harnesses, clients bring them to me to save bench labor $$$ sometimes. They are top shelf harnesses, excellent components, bulletproof soldering and consistent about it. A++

I have no experience with their pickups, sorry. But considering they sell both Tele pickups as a duet for just under $100, I very, very, very strongly suspect they are being ghost-built for 920D in Asia - where decent bulk components, bulk pickup machination and limited labor involvement are very cheap.

Not saying that's bad or the product is lackluster, just shedding light on what's behind the curtain so to speak.

I think I've got the pick ups that he took out of that CV telly, in my butterscotch blonde partscaster. That's what they are, 50s CVs. You can't have them back.
A friend has a set of those 920 Ds in his telly. They're good.

These are their Texas Vintage or Grit (something). PUPS. They do none of their own in house?

Oh well. Unless something is wrong with the guitar that is unforeseen I am happy. Thanks for the info O’ Wise and Noble Mr. Shack.

So they’re pretty good eh?

I will be sent the original PUPS and guts and plate in the sale. I may hunt for a Tele body or try to build my own one day.
