Sublime opened the show for 311 in Lake Charles couple years ago. Then 311 came on stage and proceeded to win this senseless debate.
Body of work folks = 311.
Sublime gaining respect by playing the death card, nice try but just not comparable.

I'll give the ever so slight edge to 311.

Its obviously comparable considering more people in this thread have voted for Sublime....

If everyone in this thread jumped off a bridge, would you want to do that also? Most that post here, including yourself, probably have a valid argument and opinion. My opinion was 311 was better due to the "body of work".
If we wanted to survey the masses, 311 sells out arenas on consistent basis, Sublime opens shows for them or sell 2000 tickets to HoB and the like.
311
....but everyone is entitled to their opinion, even when we/they may be wrong.

Exactly. Music is subjective. Which is why I don't understand people, such as yourself in this case, makes comments like "its not even close". Its obviously close.

I agree all of this is subjective and the body of work / longevity point is valid for 311. I think a distinction should be made between Sublime and Sublime with Rome. Sublime never opened for 311 that I am aware of.

Sublime opened for 311 in Santa Barbara back in 1995.

wow. ok. I stand corrected.

sublime would not have sold out to pop music garb the way 311 has.

Just because 311 has continued to play meh shows, doesn't mean they are better.
