Check this guy out. He is virtually unknown. I'd put him up there with nearly anyone as far as slide playing goes. Incredible talent.

got a wow from me on him, had to go look at the old cd's... got that when he first came out... 20yrs ago!?! Time flies when yer havin fun I spose
sampled some of his stuff since that debut but it never caught my ear as much. Need to take a fresh listen to the Aussie.

He became a professional in 1972 when working with a band in London and returned to Perth in 1974. He toured the Western Australian pub circuit for twenty years playing in Perth and remote towns. To keep his fans happy he released Short Fuse Blues a tape he financed, produced, and recorded with his band Short Fuse in three days in 1990, and which he sold during pub performances. On a whim he sent a copy to Guitar Player magazine in the U.S. Editor Jas Obrecht was so impressed with the tape he wrote an article hailing him as the newest guitar wizard and comparing him to such greats as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King. Soon a copy was in the hands of Alligator Records president Bruce Iglauer who signed him up as the first non-U.S.-based artist of their 26-year history.

I'm In Lafayette. I'm always looking for some blues shows, where do you go to see list of what's coming up? Seems like it's hard to find some shows.
Cotton: Derek and Duane are incredible, and I'd put them at the top. This guy is not far from their level though. I will say that no one will ever top Duane for me.

Drew Zaunbrecher is the best blues and guitar play in south Louisiana. You should go see him play

haha I know Drew really well. I've been playing since I was really young, but I took lessons from Drew to touch up my playing. He taught me some scales/licks, for over a year.

smaller end blues is harder to keep track of, check a lot of venue websites, newspaper entertainment sections, https://www.wwoz.org/new-orleans-community/music-calendar is great for NOLA, pollstar, jambase, etc
sw la cool to me in the past few years is michael juan nunez. sonny landreth has to be one of the highest ratios of talent to career prominence
