Yeah, I've heard them all. If the general casual hip-hop listener doesn't know them, they're underground. That's the case with Kendrick right now. MAYBE they recognize his name from opening for Drake and appearing on his album, but most people don't know a song from his discog. But, like I said, he's going to blow up soon on the mainstream level, especially when The Recipe starts to really hit the airwaves, so it's not something really worth debating.
My favorite underground rappers would be Jay Electronica, Blu, Fashawn, Aceyalone, and Kno.
