Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight

My Moschino ho, my Versace hottie
Come to find out you was fricking everybody
You knew about me, the fake ID
Case is in Virginia, body in D.C
Woe! Oh is me - that's what I get for trickin'
Came out on bail, commence the arse-kickin'
Kick in the door, waving the .44
All you heard was "Poppa don't hit me no more!

Silk and, pure linen, me and, Lil' Cease (hehe)
Malibu sea breeze, Dom P's, palm trees
Cats named Pablo in milked out diablos (that's right)
The Williest - what? - bitches be the silliest
The more I smoke, the smaller the Phillie gets
Room 112, where the players dwell
and stash more cash than Versatel, Inhale
Make you feel good like Tony Toni Tone (*feels good*)
Dick up in your +Middle+ like Monie (yes)
She don't know but she settin up to blow me (yes)
Should try the style, fly up North with a homey (yes)
Escada, Don Dada, player, stay splurgin
Game so tight they call it virgin

(4)
Is Brooklyn in the house? - Without a doubt
I'm the rapper with clout everybody yap about

Problems with my wife: don't discuss em
Coups and lier jets I lust them
Finger prints I dust them. Recent address
Stuck you for your stash in your pissy mattress
Your mom's a actress. Didn't wanna show me the safe
It's okay, she was old anyway. I display
Hot 97 rhyme ready. Cocked Mac-11, line steady.
Like Tevin Campbell I'm ready to do what I do
Continuously to gi

Check it, I grew up a fricking screw up
Got introduced to the game, got a ounce and fricking blew up
Chopping rocks overnight
The **** Biggie Smalls trying to turn into the black Frank White
We had to grow dreads to change our description
Two cops is on the milk box missing
Show they toes you know they got stepped on
A fist full of bullets a chest full of Teflon
Run from the police picture that, **** I'm too fat
I frick around and catch a asthma attack
That's why I bust back, it don't phase me
When he drop, take his glock, and I'm Swayze
celebrate my escape, sold the glock, bought some weight
Laid back, I got some money to make, motherfricker

1. from Who Shot ya?
Who shot ya?
Seperate the weak from the ob-solete
Hard to creep them Brooklyn streets
It's on ****, frick all that bickering beef
I can hear sweat trickling down your cheek
Your heartbeat soun like Sasquatch feet
Thundering, shaking the concrete
Finish it, stop, when I foil the plot
Neighbors call the cops said they heard mad shots
Saw me in the drop, three in the corner

Slaughter, electrical tape around your daughter
Old school new school need to learn though
I burn baby burn like Disco Inferno
Burn slow like blunts with ya-yo
Peel more skins than Idaho potato
Niggaz know, the lyrics molestin is takin place
frickin with B.I.G. it ain't safe
I make your skin chafe, rashes on the masses
Bumps and bruises, blunts and Landcruisers
Big Poppa smash fools, bash fools
Niggaz mad because I know that Cash Rules
Everything Around Me, two glock nines
Any motherfricker whispering about mines
And I'm, Crooklyn's finest
You rewind this, Bad Boy's behind this

2. from Warning
Who the frick is this?
pagin me at 5:46 in the mornin crack a dawnin
now I'm yawnin, wipe the cold out my eye
see who's this pagin me and why..
It's my **** Pop from the barbershop
told me he was in the gamblin spot and heard the intricate plot
some **** wanna stick you like fly paper neighbour
slow down love please chill drop the caper
remember them **** from the hill up in Brownsville
that you rolled dice wit
smoked the blunts and got nice wit
yeah my **** Fame up in Prospect
nah dem my **** nah love wouldn't disrespect
I didn't say dem,
they schooled me to some ****
that you knew from back when,
when you was clockin minor figures
Now they heard you blowin up like nitro
know they wanna stick the knife
through your windpipe slow..
so thank Fame for warnin me now I'm warnin you
you got the mac ****
tell me what you wanna do...

[CHORUS]
Damn **** wanna stick me for my papers

[VERSE 2]
They heard about the Rolex's and the Lexus
wit the Texas license plate outta state
they heard about the pounds
you got down in Georgetown
now they heard you got half of Virginia locked down
they even heard about the crib
you bought your moms out in Florida
the fifth corridor....
Call the coroner
there's gonna be alot of slow singin
and flower bringin
if my burgular alarm starts ringin
whatcha think all the guns is for?
all purpose war got the rottweilers by the door
and I feed em gun powder so they can devour
the criminals tryna to drop my decimals
DAMN..**** wanna stick me for my cream
And it ain't a dream things aint always what it seems
it's the ones that smoke blunts witcha
see your picture, now they wanna
grab they guns and come and getcha
Bethca Biggie won't slip
I got the calico with the black talons loaded in the clip
so I can rip through the ligaments
put the frickas in a bad prediciment
where all the foul **** went
Touch my cheddar, feel my Beretta
Buck with what I had you with
you motherfrickers betta duck
I bring pain, blood stains on what remains
Of his jacket, he had a gun he should've packed it
Cocked it, extra clips in my pocket
so I can reload and explode down ya rasshole
I frick around and get hardcore
C4 to ya door no beef no more ****
feel the rush scandalous
The more weed smoke I puff the more dangerous
I dont give a frick about you or your weak crew
What you gonna do when Big Poppa comes for you
I'm not runnin, **** I bust my gun in
Hold on I hear somebody comin........

Super Nintendo, Sega Genisis
When I was dead broke, man, I coudn't picture this

I like this line because nowadays, this would be an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. And it simply proves the point that when writing, be it a novel, song, poem, screenplay, one must be careful not to write things that will date their work. Timelessness is hard to achieve, and writing about a Sega, an iPhone, parachute pants, whatever, makes it even harder. It's harder to write leaving out those details if they are important to the writer, but in the end, they make for a better, more timeless product. Talking about hustling to feed to his daughter and now riding in limos says what this line says, but in a way that can be less dated. The rags to riches theme of the song is one that is timeless, but he really hurts his legacy by writing ridiculous lines like this one.

Come on dude. Yea his legacy as the probably the greatest MC to ever pick up a mic is going to be revoked now. BTW ask any hip hop fan if Biggie's music is timeless.

Nah I guess I'm just not smart enough. To say that line wouldn't work now if kinda funny since Juicy was the runaway favorite in the favorite Biggie song thread. The line you quoted just so happens to be the most quoted line in the song. And to say that it isn't timeless is funny to me.

i love this line too, this is what these new generation of rappers completely are missing, when he says this line the imagery comes right out and you feel what he's talking about.

It's not timeless because if you wrote that in a song right now, it wouldn't have the same meaning as it did in 1994. When he wrote it, the line was about being poor and not being able to afford luxuries. If you wrote it now, it wouldn't make any goddamn sense cause it's a 20 year old gaming system. Timelessness, by definition, is a characteristic given to something that is not affected by time. The concept of owning a super nintendo most certainly is.

Oh ok that is why my nephew just got a super nintendo. All the old game consoles are making combacks. I just got a N64. So I guess the concept of owning a super nintendo isn't really affected by time. Just like with vinyl records. They have made a huge comeback as far as producing records from new artists. So something may seem like it isn't timeless but could be.

So everyone who writes songs is supposed to write them about very vague things so that way they can be considered "timeless" in the future. And people who write about current events are tarnishing their legacy. Got it.

ETA: I'm fairly certain most listeners are able to deduce that in 1994, when the song was written, a Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo were very expensive items. Now please continue spewing stupid everywhere.
