But seriously folks…I was surprised about these two ladies: Teena Marie & Lisa Stanfield.

Singers from the '70s on, no. Joss Stone sounds white trying to sound black. I've never met anyone who thought Hall and Oates were black. The first time I heard "Roxanne" I laughed at Sting's absurd pseudo-Jamaican accent.
However, listening to some acts from the '60s, decades later, I was "fooled":
The Soul Survivors- "Expressway To Your Heart"
Shades of Blue - "Oh How Happy"
O'Kaysons - "I'm a girl watcher"
I never thought this act was black:
Shangri-Las - "Remember (Walkin' In The Sand)"
But apparently James Brown did! He did a tour with the girls and told them personally he was surprised to learn they were white.

Those are some good ones. I didn't know they were white until you posted that.

Another one I thought of:

My brother called Sunday night and said he went to see it in Shreveport. He highly recommended it.

I can remember hearing these on the old AM radio stations and never would have guessed they were white.
