I really hate being that guy, but was there any mention of masks or vaccine passports?

Not a word. Houston he literally said nothing other than his English “”thank you”. No speeches or nonsense about Covid or masks or anything.

Nothing said within the venue either. Clapton is old so his fans are old. So you notice more people who chose to wear one than I would expect from a Texas crowd. But nobody I saw said anything one way or another. Really seemed to be how it should be.

The solo on I Shot the Sheriff was one of the best solos ive ever seen live. It was like two or three minutes long and he was really leaning into it. It was a true masterpiece.

It was very good. I was just excited he played the song. Then I heard the crowd perk up during the solo and started paying attention. Getting old and old neuropathic hands so he has to pick his spots. But yes. When he leans back the image is so iconic.

don't remember him speaking a single word last night in NOLA other than saying one of the songs was for Peter Green and then later he introduced his band members. That was about it.... aside from singing the songs of course.

I have seen Clapton a few times over the last 30 years, and have never heard him utter a complete sentence, if he says anything more than “thank you”, or “good night” it would be rare. I think he is extremely confident in his playing/ singing, but has little in the way of interpersonal skills.

Was thinking of buying a ticket Friday but checked out the set list and it was not for me! My favorite music of Eric was during the CREAM days.

Wasn’t impressed with set list either
Acoustic Layla
No Cream
No Let it Rain
No Tulsa Time
No Bell Bottom Blues
Not his best set list for me

Agreed.

Never been a fan of the acoustic version of Layla and I was bummed for no “Crossroads” and “Lay Down Sally”.

Still a great show though. Very thankful to have finally seen him

You would have be disappointed in the majority of his shows, he has rarely performed these songs in concert.

saw him in Nashville, may be the best I have seen him play in 8xs. I loved the set list, i know some casual fans may be somewhat unhappy with it. He dug into some stuff he can really sing well on. Keys to the Highway(old blues) was so good and "got to get better in a little while", the jam on that song was amazing.when the two drummers went in that quick solo and EC was leaning on his lamp post. It was pure joy for me
