Love their music but always felt they were under achievers. All that talent, and most people only know Lucky Man(A true masterpiece BTW). Add some more for From The Beginning, then a couple more for Karn Evil 9. Anything past that, and you are a true fan.

I see why you say that, and yes, the average joe doesn't think much about ELP, but not having multiple "big hits" doesn't make them underachievers. They did sell an estimated 48 million albums and toured to packed houses for a relatively short career (not counting later reunions). Being at the forefront of "prog rock", that's pretty damn good.
