I do. The babysitter I stayed with after school when I was in K or 1st grade had a record with a whole bunch of "Americana" on it - both of the above included. Her dumbass kid used to get mad if you wouldn't run around in circles with him on the rug whenever "Wabash Cannonball" came on. "Ballad of Davey Crockett" meant we could sit down and play legos again.

As a kid he was the first "celebrity" I knew I shared a birthday with...I know, csb.

Yes, as a kid 4 or 5 years old it was on a TV show in the daytime, he sang it every show to open or close it. I remember my mother cooking and cleaning while it was on. There were only 2 TV stations then, I believe it was KNOE Monroe channel 8. I do remember.
