apparently the top 3 of the dj mag top 100 leaked the other day and Armin Van Buuren's crazy run at #1 is over.

Word is its going to be

Hardwell
Armin
Avicii

I actually voted Hardwell #1 but kind of shocked to see him win and be ahead of guys like Tiesto,David Guetta and Avicii b/c its based off fan votes.

Who are the Music boards top 10 electronic DJ's?

Id go
Hardwell
Armin
Nicky Romero
Above & Beyond
Sander Van Doorn
Markus Schulz
Ferry Corsten
W&W
Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano
Dada Life

Best label - Anjunabeats

as you can see im pretty heavy on the trance and progressive house so im sure my list will different than alot on here since we have a bunch of techno, minimal, tech-house and deep house fans on here.

I don't know if I could do a top 10.

Hardwell being up there seems ok, I heard his essential mix from last year. Don't know if I can put him one based on that, but his mix was good. That genre along with trance have dominated the top 10 for years now. I'd like to see Digweed remain in the op 100( 98th currently)

Most of the electronic music I listen to isn't Dance music per say.

Seeing that top three really does not surprise.

I would vote for :
Burial
Nero
Deadmau
Zedd's Dead
Metrik
Cosmic Gate
Infected Mushroom

I will always vote Adam Freeland and Plump DJs but thats just cause they will always be favs of mine.

which is kinda of crazy b/c it doesn't get the air time like house or the popish stuff coming out now

Trance fans are a pretty loyal sub culture

I'd imagine not to many people vote who are into the new stuff coming out.

Trance will never die.

House music from today isn't what it was ten years ago.

Really and truly I struggle to define EDM on a genre by genre basis personally.

I voted this year:

Minnesota (won't make the charts)
Deadmau5 (will be top 10 again)
Kaskade (might get a bump into top 25)
Rusko (probably won't make the charts)
Seven Lions (will most likely debut in the top 100 this year)

Is this list based off of dk skill alone or production also?

They really should be two different lists. Last year I would have put Skrillex in the top 10 producers and nowhere near the top 100 DJs.

Personally for my list, I do a combination of the two.

This poll always makes me laugh.

Here's my guesses for top 10:
Armin
Avicii
Tiesto
Guetta
Afrojack
Swedish House Mafia
Above & Beyond
Hardwell
Nicky Romero
and Deadmau5 for good measure

I'm sure that junk known as Steve Aoki will be close to up there too.

I'd much prefer house & good breaks, but what do I know?

Listening to skrillex EPs are sort of like listening to gwar at home, he brings it live and none if his best moments are on his proper albums, hell his best song is a bennie benassi remix or that collab w the doors..

Fwiw I hated sonny moore a year ago

This poll (among most of the others) have always been pretty damn laughable.

I love how a shitty dj like Steve Aoki can man the main stage at a huge festival, while house legends like Masters at Work (or insert any other genre legends) can man a small tent. I'll take that smaller tent anyday with the real heads

Marketing does such a huge tool for these polls too. Go watch any lets say Nicky Romero YouTube video or Skundcloud & you're constantly reminded to vote for him in this poll.

its sad really. the top half of my dj list would do circles around everybody mentioned in this thread ,but because they play drum n bass, they get no recognition. i take some of that back, andy c will be top dog wherever he plays. even the david guettas and aokis of the world know he is "the executioner" and they dont amount to squat next to him

sucks good dj's like armin, hardwell and above & beyond get thrown in with the others,

at deadmau5 making the top ten each year even though he puts nothing out or really tours the last couple years.

drum n bass has a good sub culture but for me i just don't like it, like lots of people don't like trance but i do. They would rather slober over dubstep and dance house.

England on the other hand they love drum and bass you would love it there.

Album Title Goes Here came out last year and he still performs, just not a lot. Saw him at Snowglobe last year and will again this year at LAN.

All of that doesn't matter anyways since he's still the best.

I would pay big bucks to go over the pond for the Hospital Records tour.
