Look mon, guitar playing is more than just dweedling off note after note. All Cinninger does is try to out-duel his other guitarist. Of course he is technically sound. But there is so much more to guitar playing than that. Trey's TONE is beautiful. He is also by far the superior songwriter.
If technical skills and speed were all that matter than people like Buckethead would be considered the greatest guitarist.

I wasn't arguing that. That has nothing to do with being a jam band. I know trey anastasio is the most like jam band musician out there right now with the exception of bob weir maybe. its suicide for me to come in here and say anyone's better than him. I simply like other jam bands like lotus and umphreys on the same level that i like phish. I honestly prefer the jam more than hearing someone sing for the majority of the song.

I agree with this. Phils bass playing is very unique. I caught ALOT of phil and friends shows when i lived in northern cali.
