Who wants to split a show 50/50 when you can have all of it. The rivercenter isn't going to split a concert over a band they can book, afford, and accommodate easily

Understand, was just thinking the amount of ticket revenue would be greater than what the varsity could pull on a night

Soundgarden maybe? They're touring in 2013, been around for at least 15 years.

If it's Foo, I'm coming in from Houston for that.
What time is this announcement?

Was not reading every page of this thread. Any word yet? I'm always up to hear some live music!

So if Doc is being honest....
Band is a mid to late 90's band (He said he's been a fan for 15yrs)
Grammy Award Winners
Entertaining Drummer
Headlining own tour
This is the smallest venue on the tour
I hate you for this shite Doc, but it is fun trying to figure it out.

If its Foo, I would be extremely surprised... Someone blew somebody to get that show.
But if it was indeed Foo, I'd say that it would be the biggest show at the Varsity since I've been around BR.
I'd pay $100 a ticket to see them in that small of a venue.
ETA: Now that you put them in my head, I looked up recent info anthem. In October, Grohl said the band was going to take a break, so I highly doubt they would be booking tour dates only 2 months after. More than likely won't tour for a year or two.

I'm gonna guess Jimmy Eat World.
Foo or Incubus

Porcupine tree( great drummer),
One of the greatest drummers of all-time, but I'm pretty sure they're not going to be touring any time in the near future as they are on indefinite hiatus. They haven't won a Grammy, either.

Is the Varsity becoming the new Texas Club? It seems like they are booking more and more acts that were big 15 years ago.

It's probably Fall Out Boy

Didn't see the band playing had won Grammy. Just knew JEW has new record on horizon.
15 years, still relevant with Grammy?
RHCP or Train

Some clues could probably be found in one of the "Favorite Drummers" threads.

I have no guesses, but I hope your buddy at the Varsity is eventually able to book one of those Jeff Tweedy solo shows down the road.
He tends to play some small venues when Wilco isn't touring.

Another possibility, though I'm not sure on Grammies, is Deftones.
