...probably the most important modern day record released.
Eh... It's not even The Beatles' most important record if we're being honest.

"It's not even The Beatles' most important record if we're being honest."
...It may not be. That's just how good they were.
However, it forever changed rock-n-roll.
...and it's still a brilliant record.

Did it though? I mean, it made them hugely popular and they changed the way rock-n-roll was marketed. But their true, indelible mark on music didn't come 'til later IMHO.

Yes, it was revolutionary like no other singular album. They/it put a lot of shi% music out of its misery.
Realistically, the closest thing was the Stones.
...and they were even quite a few steps behind.

Captain Beyond is the debut album by Captain Beyond, released in 1972.
The Michael Schenker Group Made #1 on KTUH's charts on the week of September 29, 1980
After being successful with bands including The Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Cream and Blind Faith, Clapton recorded an album under his own name in late 1969 and early 1970.

Half original pop songs and half Motown/blues covers. I'm sorry I just don't think it was all that revolutionary. Rubber Soul and Revolver were the game changers IYAM. But hopefully Baloo will chime in soon to set one of us straight

Revolver was a better album (IMO). And it could be argued as important or more important for their middle period/growing years. ...just as SPLHCLB or Abbey Road were later masterpieces.
You have to remember, after MTB was released in the states, every kid under 21 wanted to play guitar and be a Beatle. ...and every girl wanted to bang them.

Deftones "Adrenaline"
Korn "Self-titled"
These two hit at about the same time, and bring back good memories for me...

It was revolutionary in regards to pop music, but I agree it's not great music. Their masterpieces were later records as they matured as musicians.
