I didn't even watch them. I got so pissed last time I said I wouldn't watch them anymore. I get more pissed and scream at the tv more than I do when I watch a Les Miles coached football team or a damned presidential debate.

Last year they had Darius Rucker, the Eagles, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, some other old actress I can't remember who decided she wanted to be country, and a rapper. The whole damn time they were celebrating not being country on the country award show.

Yep...it's sad. I'm a big Eagles fan. They're one of my favorites, but performing on the Country music awards show? What's funny is that their early stuff is lots more country than any of the so called country today.

Oh and don't get me started on Big & Rich...

It's sad when the highlight of the show was watching Vince Gill. Brantley Gilbert is a fricking joke

FWIW...i thought Aldean got fricked last night....Blake Shelton for Entertainer of the Year?

Country or not, Aldean has busted his arse on that My Kinda Party tour...and brought along another one that has done well...Luke Bryan...

and by the way...i agree with some in this thread about the turn country has taken...but some of the ones who are mentioned here as icons were outlaws at the time they came out and were called the death of country music...Waylon and Merle pissed off the establishment...what if some of these guys like Church and Aldean are the Waylon and Merle's of the future?

Just saying...

their music sucks though. they have absolutely no talent compared to the outlaws. and they are not pissing off the establishment, they are the establishment.

yes they are...why you think Jason didn't win last night?

did you hear Paisley's little comment about his driver's license points? i bet if you dig you will find that Aldean is more like those outlaws than you think...it wasn't just the music they made, it was the way the lived life as well...

you are probably oldr and entitled to your opinion, but Aldean, Church, and Gilbert ARE reaching country people with their music..just a younger generation of country...the world is evolving and growing...haggard didn't sound like Roy Orbison...shite changes...the Grand Ole Opry was once listened to on static filled A.M. radio stations...now you can get blueray discs of yoru favorite singers concerts and download music at the touch of a button...shite isn't gonna stay the same...

but...like i said...i agree with alot of it on some counts...Hunter Hayes?...**** ropesucker who can't sing a lick and would get his arse kicked in every honkytonk in the south...

you have to pick out the good and sift through the other bullshite...

I'm 18. If they were really pissing off the establishment, they wouldn't have been nominated. Hank Williams isn't a member of the GOO, neither is David Allan Coe. DAC has never been asked to do anything for the CMAs, what a joke. Hank 3 released an album this year, so did Alan Jackson, where were they? Aldean is selling more records than anybody, music row ain't complaining. He might have a few decent songs, but the majority is laundry list redneck bull shite.

Jason Aldean - Country Music

Does not compute...

When I think of country I think of Hank, Lefty, Webb, Cash, Merle, the Possum, Pride, Waylon, Don Williams, and a few more...

Why is Brantley Gilbert such a thug POS?

I know the "popular" thing to do these days is a t shirt and ball cap, like Luke Bryan, Eric a church, etc instead of the traditional cowboy hats. But he just looked like white trash with his big leather bracelets and trailer trash wallet chain.
