On Netflix. Not a single mention of Neil Peart
How is this possible?
Spoke about…
Keith Moon
Ginger Baker
John B
Charlie Watts
Ringo
Max Roach
Joe Morello
Billy Cobham
Chad Smith
Cindy Blackmon
and several others.
All very good drummers, but I can’t imagine overlooking a top 5 all time rock drummer.

Given that half of that list doesn't even belong in the same conversation as Peart, I'm kind of glad they left him out. I can skip it entirely.

Yep, Bonham is the only one I would even remotely put alongside Peart. Of course the jazz guys are so different that you can’t really make the comparison

As soon as I saw some of the drummers that were being interviewed, I checked out. And I'm usually willing to sit through about any music doc...unless it's some other crappy Netflix doc, like Echos In The Canyon.

I'm not a Rush fan but most of the drummers interviewed weren't the people that I'd want to hear from on a documentary about drumming.
It seemed like they were catering to people that like shitty emo and pop punk. I don't care what someone like Travis Barker has to say about anything.

For the record, I said “mentioned”.

rappy Netflix doc, like Echos In The Canyon.
I looked this up and there is a lot of talent in that documentary. 3 of my absolute favorite female singers were involved, along with the Buffalo Springfield and CSNY guys. It's a shame they didn't include Jonathan Wilson, who really brought the canyon back recently.

I was expecting it to be a documentary about the music coming out of Laurel Canyon in the 60s. Instead, it seemed like it was going to be Jacob Dylan, and whoever else was involved, sitting around in a circle singing songs and pretending that they're "just like the musicians from that scene in the 60s."
It wasn't at all what I was expecting it to be.

That was one of the most boring documentaries I've ever watched.
The omission of Peart is ridiculous.

Jimmy Chamberlain is better than most of those guys.

I started to list all the guys left off, and included JC, but my list kept growing, so I stopped myself.
Your post completely reminded me to listen to Life Begins Again. I haven't listened to that album in years.
