I really like Cody Jinks and saw he was coming to Fort Worth in a couple of weeks. Got on Ticketmaster and bought 2 floor seats. All confirmed but at the top of the page I noticed Five Finger Death Punch. Thought that was the name of the tour. Oh no, he is opening for the heavy metal band’s 20th anniversary tour. Going to be an interesting night.

Both Cody and his lead guitarist, Carondelet Pickups artist Jake Lentner, are metalheads to the core. They both played thrash prior to jumping ship to country.
They have a side metal-meets-Southern-rock band called Caned By Nod, look them up on YouTube. Kinda reminiscent of the Rebel Meets Rebel album Dime and Vinnie did with David Allan Coe.

I really enjoyed Cody and Five finger put on a good show but it’s just not my style of music anymore. I went though a phase where I listened to them because it was new and bought a couple albums but haven’t played one in 15 years.
I still enjoy hard rock and metal but bands like disturbed, FFDP and avenge 7 fold are not it.
