Stapleton hasn't shown me anything that I haven't seen before. His style of singing is similar to Tritt.

Besides a few songs, the rest of his songs are boring.

I like Luke Bryan as an individual but his music and lyrical content of his songs are just bad.

Man, I love David Allen coe. I celebrate his entire catalog.

But Stapleton brings a new level to Tennessee Whiskey,

It's an evolution

George Jones just brings that song to a different level.

No doubt, And Stapleton slowed it down and smoothed it out and gave it some next level

And this is from someone who LOVES George jones

If evolving to cliched faux sincerity is what you mean, you're spot on

frick no he Caint.

But Tennessee whiskey got better when George jones covered it and got better when Stapleton covered it.

Slowing it down each time made it better.

What are you looking for? It's delivered better slower. Had coe or jones delivered it slower it would have been better. But they didn't

Faux sincerity. But I agree, most people like this phony emotive quality

Look, I love the earlier iterations. But Stapleton's version, "faux emotive" or not, is more danceable. Better tempo.

It's on the setlist for my wedding tomorrow night and I can guarantee you it will be properly emoted.

Sometimes the sequel is better a la terminator 2 or Aliens
