First time listening to him just now. Family Ties is really good.
I'm gonna be a fan.
I see he's gonna be in Huntsville next month, I think I will be there.
Does he have any upbeat HonkyTonk type stuff at all?
This steel guitar player is as good as it gets.

From that album the upbeat/honkytonk ones would probably be Two Weeks Gone and That Time Again. Shrinks and Pills, Harwood Floors, and Blood Feud are the others that you’re looking for.

A ton of people I know are going. I think it will be close to a sellout when he goes on.

Paul Skenes and some other bball players went on stage and closed the show with CWG singing Country Roads

I left during the encore break.

Great show, his band rocked.

Awful crowd.

The show was amazing. I was in the front row and got some great pictures and videos.

So who were the other LSU players in addition to Paul?

I was also there. Great show. He and the Allegheny High are the truth and they're going places.

Tanner Usrey killed it too.

My brother-in-law was there with some of his buds.

The man puts on an absolute show. I can not wait to see him at the ryman. Gonna be a time.

ETA: there is no way in the word he was the guy that tried to fight the poster above.

Man, what I would pay, to hear Vern Gosdin doing one of these songs. Especially Seneca Creek.

I had no bad crowd experience and there didn’t seem to be the usual conglomerate of trashy wannabe rednecks that the Texas Club normally attracts. I figured most people that showed up for CWG would be into good music.

I also stood on the split level up by the bar though, so I was off the floor.

The musicians on this are so damn good. Might be the most disciplined banjo player I've ever heard.

I’ve met and hung out with Reed, banjo player, a few times. Super nice guy. He even let me play his lap steel after a show in Memphis a while back.

Oh that's cool. How did he have his lap steel tuned?

He tunes his in open E. I’d never played in open E and had drank way to many woodford to make a good attempt that night. I tried, though

For future reference, all the major open tunings work the same. Fifth fret is your 4th, seventh fret is your 5th etc..
They're pretty easy to learn with a little practice, because they all work pretty much the same.

I never got much into open tunings. I got a roundneck dobro years back and told myself I’d learn to rail in open D. But, that thing has been in standard tuning for years now.
