My brother is growing his vinyl collection. He's asking for a few vinyls for gifts. I went to a local record store was able to grab one of the ones he wanted (Grateful Dead American Beauty), but I wasn't able to find the other 3.

Looks like Discogs is a recommended place to get vinyl. Trouble I'm having is that when I look up the albums, there's about a million different versions of some of them, and I'm not sure what I should be buying. Should I buy a remastered new album, look for the VG-Mint older prints?

In particular, I'm looking at David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust, Bob Dylan - New Morning, and Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.

Any advice or hep appreciated.

Musicdirect.com.

They are in Chicago. I have bought several dozen albums from them over the past 8 years. Also they have an awesome selection of equipment too.

Discogs

Unless you are looking for a very specific pressing, you'll go crazy trying to figure out which one to get on this site..

There are many different (some listed above) outlets to get vinyl online...

In Little Rock there is a record store with a huge inventory that supplies material for Beaker Street on Arkansas Rocks.
Arkansas Record Exchange...I believe they ship as well...he needs Allman Brothers Live or 1st album...Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited to start with...

Thanks all. I ended up ordering off discogs from a vendor from Chicago. I don't think my brother needed anything special, so I was able to get a couple of the newer presses off there.
