On Saturday, January 16th, Arcade Fire and Preservation Hall Jazz Band will pay tribute to David Bowie with a second line parade through the streets of New Orleans.
“Dress in you best Bowie outfit or something more strange and meet us at 4pm on Saturday, January 16th at Preservation Hall (726 St. Peter St., NOLA) to parade,” notes the Facebook event page.
Arcade Fire were frequent collaborators of Bowie in the later years of his life. During a September 2005 Fashion Rocks concert, which proved to be Bowie’s penultimate live performance, he and Arcade Fire joined forces for “Wake Up”. Bowie later appeared on Arcade Fire’s 2013 album, Reflektor.

It going to be packed. I'll probably get down there at noon and make a day of it.

This will be legit. One of the many reasons I miss NOLA

Post-event relevant bump.

It was very poorly planned. The streets weren't even shut down so the cars outside of preservation hall fricked everything up. That whole block was a nightmare and too crowded to be fun. Now the scene at one eyed jacks was awesome and well worth it.
