I'm a plaintiff's lawyer, but I think that BMI and ASCAP are a racket. They force businesses to pay license fees or face the wrath of a lawsuit, even for live performances of a song. What does the MB think of this?

I think the business owner should pay the BMI fees like all of the other competing businesses have to or stop live music.

he's basically gotten away without having to pay the BMI fees since he opened the restaurant. I don't necessarily agree with the law, but those are the rules that everyone is expected to play by.
