In the 90's when I was an Oasistard it was Oasis. But during and after college I forced myself to listen to Blur's entire discography.

I am an Oasistard, probably to a fault, but I do enjoy a lot of Blur. Both groups hold up really well, but I'll always love Oasis more. They've put out more music, they continue to make more music when separated, too.

Tender-Blur
This was Blur's last good song. It's good, but 9 out of 11 songs on Dig Out Your Soul are as good as that one.
I'll also say this, both bands put on a hell of a show.

Oasis doesn't get enough credit for this one and Don't Believe the Truth. Some good songs on these albums. Unfortunately they will never be forgiven for Be Here Now being a dud, even though IMO it really wasn't that bad of an album. It just wasn't another WTSMG.

Gorrilaz are pretty great, but if we're not counting that, Oasis in a landslide. Blue wishes they did a song half as great as Wonderwall.

I give DM and WTSMG as ALBUMS better grades, but the Blur self-titled better than BHN. Blur is probably one of my favorite albums, to a fault under-rated
These are the three key albums for both groups. Over the period of 1994-1998 (when the bands were recording, producing, and touring for those albums) British Rock had almost never been better.
The Great Escape (1995) vs. WTSMG (1995)
Blur (1997) vs. Be Here Now (1997)

Oasis has never approximated the sublime elegance of To The End, hasn't an across the board redemptive feel-good like Tender, absolutely nothing jocular let alone brilliantly so, like Country Man.
Beetlebum and Coffee and TV alone are enough to stave off your 7 albums and wonder wall of a b-side collection.
The list of creativity and quality goes on, and on, and on.
What's the Story Morning Glory has been rehashed six times. Granted, it was and is, an important album, but their respective careers are quite different.
Gorillaz does suck in my opinion.

Be Here Now is the most cliched, 70's rock referenced song I've ever heard.
Stand By Me, D'ya Know What I Mean, and Don't Go Away were all spectacular.
All Around the World was too bloated with lyrics like this:
Girl With the Dirty Shirt is excellent
I could go on and on about how freaking excellent Be Here Now is as an Oasis record. However, you look at the giant transition that Blur made going from Great Escape to "Blur", it was easy to see Noel was milking the cliched songs.
1998 brought The Masterplan which many US fans have never heard which has all of the b-sides which YES, does shite on EVERY Blur album.
Standing on the Shoulders of Giants saw Noel getting off of Cocaine and starting to change how he wrote. It took two albums to get rid of some of the junk, but the last two Oasis albums are gems.

Beetlebum is about the wonders of Heroin and how Damon was addicted as frick. Great song from an amazing album. I actually don't rate Coffee and TV much.

And it is after this point where Blur wins this contest. 13 and Think Tank are both excellent albums, and both much better than anything Oasis released after 1994. Oasis has the best two albums overall, but Blur's overall body of work is more impressive.
