Not saying Big Boi is bad though.

I'd also be interested in hearing why folks favor one guy over the other.

Andre 3000.
I honestly don't think he is half as good without Big Boi though..

Big Boi all day err day

Yea Andre is more "creative" and maybe a slightly better rapper, but Big Boi has always had better beats and frankly songs in general

And hes got way more of an "edge" to him than Andre

Let me put it this way, gun to my head I can only listen to Speakerboxxx or Love Below for the rest of my life, I go Speakerboxxx 10 out of 10 times

I can't really pick one over the other because I think they need each other. Elevators is the one of the best songs ever made and they just fed off each other's flow. That shite was amazing.

Since they have been making music apart for about 10 yrs, BigBoi is definitely my preferred choice. However, for the time period between southernplayalistc and Aquemini I would have to give 3 stacks the nod.

That whole album is like that. No two rappers have ever had better "chemistry" than those two guys.

ahh...the pimp or the poet...

i love andre's work thru aquemini (which was their absolute peak and is one of the great american records of all time) and stankonia.. but big boi has been more consistently good over time..

andre got a little too far out there IMO and the speakerboxx/love below album was essentially 2 solo records sold together.. i look at them similar to lennon/mccartney... together they produce quite a synergy; the sum is greater than the parts..
