Big 4 Fans...Anthrax @ Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge Thursday, October 6

This was a pleasant surprise that was just unveiled yesterday.
Death Angel and Avatar will be the opening acts.
I would have loved to see the Slayer, Anthrax, and Death Angel tour stop in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, but this should be pretty good.

Also, was anyone else disappointed to see that the Crowbar date in New Orleans this August will not include Carcass or Ghoul, who they are touring with this summer?

I'll be at both and probably Crowbar in July at Riverside Warehouse in Shreveport.

Carcass would have been awesome, listened to Heartwork so much back in the day

Man this is SUCH an awesome get for the Varsity. Very impressive the way they have stepped it up with the shows they're bringing in. I'm jealous but happy for you frickers at the same time.
Just last fall I had a thread on here about the nice run of shows here in Jacksonville. At one point someone, I think it was Sayre, posted that the Jacksonville metal scene blows away Baton Rouge. Now, just seven or eight months later, the best damn club venue in Jax has been sold and closed, and The Varsity is kicking some serious arse. Good for y'all.
