>> Wasn't someone shot during the performance inside the Superdome? I believe I heard that, or read that somewhere.

yes someone was shot, about 3 rows in front of where i was, we heard the shot thought noise was part of the show then lights came on in our section and stampede from area headed for exits... apparently some guy pulled a gun on a cop for trying to arrest his wife, cop shot him in the stomach. ironically it occurred during the intro to comfortably numb, yes it happened. despite that, the greatest, by far, show i've ever seen. the sound/performance in the superdome that night will only be understood by those that were there.

Those were some great shows. For other local bands, I'd throw in Zebra and 24K. Fun times.

I can't believe that I'm the only person to mention The Last Waltz.

I by no means expect it to be the consensus favorite but I thought it would at least get a mention. It fricking embodies every sense of the word "legendary"

I love cream's live stuff. I think it is some of Clapton's best guitar work. Plus when they set into their jams, it's fun to focus one of them, then switch and focus on another since they basically all play lead parts when they jam.

The Division Bell Tour, caught it in Dallas and it was raining like a mofo. Idiots were charging $9 to park which meant giving everyone a dollar in change while standing in a downpour. I think it took us 2 hours from the time we hit the exit off the Interstate to walk into the arena, missed about half the first set...

Dont know about the best entire concert. But the best live performance of any single song I have ever seen was TOOL in 2001 or 2002 in Chicago (don't remember the year but it was the LAteralus tour).

They opened the show with Third Eye with the Timothy Leary intro. Sounded even better than the Salival version. Absolutely perfect. They could have stopped the show after that one song and it would have been one of the best concerts ever.

ABB Filmore wasn't one continuous live performance. It was the best of the best taken from a 3 day run. Doesn't really count.

My vote is either the last waltz or Hendrix at Woodstock

Then the Last Waltz doesn't count for shite then. The majority... hell I think all songs had to be dubbed in the studio with vocal tracks, etc.

Rage Against the Machine and Wu-Tang Clan with Atari Teenage Riot (1997)
