You're just fricking with me now, right? You saw Scar Tissue was one of my favorites songs and you're doing this now to get a rise out of me?

Black Keys for me, even though I found their last album a little disappointing.

Absolutely not. I didn't know it was one of your favorites. Terrible lyrics and the vocal delivery is not much better.

If you don't like the guy's voice then it's not fair to say his "vocal delivery" isn't good on a particular song, no? I'd imagine you think that's true for most of their songs.

Well, his voice is certainly not good, which hurts the delivery. However, it is bearable at times. That song is just horrendous. I just think the whole vocal melody sounds really gimmicky in it.

My bigger issue with Anthony is that he's just a total douche. (From kicking John on stage to stating time and again that Mr. Bungle copied RHCP) Also, his story about the Dalai Lama is pretentious as hell.

Chevelle is a great band for its genre... hardly the best though I'd agree. Don't get the ROFLing.

I'll vote for Japandroids.

Current band that has grown on me well. Didn't realize you had the right answers and were all wrong.

So Chevelle isn't indie rock.. what of it?

It's not that at all. But just because you love a band doesnt make them the best. I'm a huge fan of a lot of bands that aren't mentioned but I acknowledge why.

I guess maybe we have different definitions of "best"

Best rock band is 100% subjective and it's pretty douchey to "rofl" at other people's choices. Chevelle is my pick because I think that they kick arse and have produced consistently good modern rock music. I'll give an honorable mention to Tool but I hate that they haven't released anything since 2006.

This. "Best" and "favorite" are two different conversations.

That Deftones cover they did was solid.

When talking about music, I use favorite and best interchangeably. Why would something be my favorite if it isn’t the best to me? If I didn’t think Titus Andronicus was the best current rock band then they wouldn’t be my favorite. It isn't like I am championing them because we went to the same high school or something. It is strictly based on how much I enjoy their music. Now I am not arrogant enough to think my opinion objectively proves that one band is better than another. But there is no real way to objectively prove one band is better than another, so there is truly no such thing as “best” current rock band. So you just as well list your favorite, no?

Absolutely.

I wouldn't "rotfl" at someone who said their favorite band is Chevelle. Fair enough. To each his own. But best is a whole new ball game.

I'm never going to call Dirty Projectors, Vampire Weekend, Edward Sharpe, Avett Brothers, etc etc, the best...they're just some of my favorites

See, but this really isn't debatable. Titus Andronicus actually are the best rock band right now.

Ha, I agree. But it's not like I have a pie chart that proves it.
