Haven't seen Yes mentioned yet. Probably the most prolific prof-rock band-UK or anywhere else. Not Beatles/Stones popular but for that genre most likely the best.

As much as I love the Stone Roses, they had one great record and some great singles... Can't put their body of work up there with the greats

I am inclined to say Beatles obviously but led zep gives them a run for their money IMO

Also pink Floyd is amazing, one of my fav bands
