Did anyone actually watch the show, or did y'all post on here the whole night?

I am sure exams had an effect on students and post-Jazz Fest exhaustion for others played a role.

JW you should find a student marketing intern or something similar to help promote.

they were all factors for sure, but to not have 100 people for this guy with all the music staff at LSU/Southern, "BR music aficionados" and the rest is pitiful. People would rather stand around and be seen playing board games or drinking sidecars.

If BR doesn't rally and support weekday touring shows across the board you will see less and less of them and the scene will suffer.

you are right and i also need a big movie soon, so i can help fund some real advertising. Not being there much, i don't have a finger on the pulse.

Learned the hard way you cannot take anything for granted in BR. Damien Jurado should have been a sell out and Bernie should not have played to 50 people.

Also reach out to some entertainment writers in the Daily Reveille (sucks that it's summer though)

we have been spoiled by the local media especially 225, the advocate and KLSU. So much so early that it became a problem.

I am really bummed there was not even a photo of Bernie in the Red section on Friday. (i sent one in)

but there was a photo and remark about Buddy Guy playing at the HOB NOLA? Makes no sense and the show was probably sold out.

just venting because i don't like to be disappointed when a legend takes the stage to a half full room.

What is exhausting about a festival that ends at 7

The only exhausting thing about is if you eat too much food

Guys, in the interest of not derailing this thread, can we keep it on "Why Baton Rouge has terrible taste in music and chooses mediocrity over greatness"

This, on top of finals, on top of the fact that people in BR that aren't in school typically have shite to do the next day all contributed to small turnout IMHO. I really, really tried to spread the word and get people out, but I can't really blame people for not wanting to stay out til 1:00-1:30 on a Wednesday

it was supposed to be over by 11:45. Not sure why it ended so late unless he played for 3 hrs
