Beginner guitar. Feeling sorry for myself..... :(

I do not practice enough. I can find chords and chord shapes more easily now but I still suck and cannot play more than a few notes of anything recognizable.

Welcome to the world of guitar. As much fun as it is, it is equally as frustrating. I have been playing for 10 years and I still think I am terrible. Watching videos on YouTube of guitarists and seeing how great they can be makes me feel even smaller, but it is motivating at the same time.

Slow it down as much as you need to, and speed it up as you're able. You can never practice enough. Got to be willing to put the time in.

Look up "Justin guitar", his site is free (runs off donations) and has some really good beginner and intermediate lessons. Beginning process of learning to play guitar sucks, but just stick with it. Practice every day, even if its just 20-30 minutes you really need to practice every day.

I do. Practice consists of sitting on couch playing CAGED chords, and changing between. Then go on youtube and find a "lesson" on something years beyond my skill level. Getting frustrated and putting away guitar. REALLY is Bron Y' Aur Stomp's intro really too much to ask? frick!!

I can empathize. I've played guitar off and on for half my life. Still not really any good. Why I'm looking at drums now. Bass is pretty easy if you want to feel better about yourself.
