Bands you're surprised are still together/relevant?

Mine is definitely Breaking Benjamin. I thought they were dead in the water after the garbage Dear Agony album. Not to mention Ben (lead singer) suing the other members for ok'ing that garbage remix of Blow Me Away that got plastered all over the radio for a while. Yet Ben replaces every other member and they release Dark Before Dawn and now their early releases for their new album "Ember" are all getting ridiculously huge. Red Cold River, specifically. They might actually be bigger now than they were when Phobia dropped. Absolutely insane to think about considering where they were a few years ago.

Breaking Benjamin was booed heavily when I saw them open for Godsmack in 2003. Singer has an awful voice too. I'm surprised they ever made it in the first place.

I can see the booing though, especially back then when they were just "mainstream radio rock". Don't think there's much crossover between Breaking Benjamin and Godsmack fans.

Well the 3 members are brothers and brother-in-laws. It's not surprising they're still together. As far as relevant, they still put out great music and are very consistent. That's not very surprising either.

Agree on Breaking Benjamin what with the legal issues and Ben's medical issues. He seems like a really difficult guy to work with, so replacing the entire band really wasn't surprising. Pretty sure he's the entire creative force so not surprising the music didn't change. I, however, really liked Dear Agony.
Another thing about Breaking Benjamin is that every song I've heard off the new album (and quite a few on Dark Before Dawn) sound painfully repetitive to their old stuff but in a bad way - like they're directly reusing riffs and lyrics. That is why I am surprised they are still going strong. I hate Red Cold RIver...
