bands that have had remarkable musicians thru their run

Meaning, lineups change for several reasons. Some bands fall apart, some excel. I'm looking for bands that have had different people come thru their band and have impressed.
Specifically, the same "position" in the respective band. Whether it be front man, guitarist, drummer, etc. The 1st couple that come to mind are:
allman brothers band - Duane allman, dickey Betts, Derek trucks, warren haynes. That is 40 years of unbelievable lead guitar work through the lineup changes.
Yardbirds - Clapton, Page, Beck. Arguably 3 of the top 10 guitarist of all time coming through the same band is crazy.
Black Sabbath with ozzy then dio is impressive in their own right
What else Yall got?

Other than johnny Marr, who else came thru that band on guitar that is worth the price of admission?

I didn't think they had many lineup changes. Unless you are refering to their drummers? I forget their names, but were their 2 drummers really that good?

Widespread Panic - Micheal Houser, George McConnel and Jimmy Herring is a pretty damn good run

That's a good one. WP is impressive in that respect - continuing a great sound with several different musicians. I'm not the biggest WP fan, but I certainty recognized/hear their skill and appeal.

How good do they have to be? Seems we are going to delve into the subjective here.
Here is RUSH with John Rutsey LINK

You are right. It's all subjective. It's just my knowledge of Rush (admittedly limited) never made think of their music in terms of pre/post drummers.
However other bands, I know them by certain eras based on their lineup. I will have to YouTube a few Rush tracks with the different drummers.

Originally Rutsey was to be the chief lyricist for the band but was never satisfied enough with his own lyrics to produce them. He left due to diabetes concerns. He was a capable musician but left because he didn't think touring and his illness were compatible.
Jeff Jones played in a band that won a grammy and was the bassist and lead singer before Lee. He later became the bassist for Red Ryder. He has done promotional work for the company that produces the instrument he plays. Jeff Jones

How many bands have run through Nicky Hopkins?
It is truly amazing.

Sorry, but I'm going to disagree. Maybe I tend to favor the Mikey days and his influence on tunes. They lost their appeal to me after that and it's a jam band. Insert anybody and it could continue on. But that's just how I feel.
Don't get me wrong, I liked McConnel with Beanland and I've seen Kudzu Kings plenty of times but I'll pass on him with WP. Who knows maybe it's just me and my age and preference.

Disagree with what?
Are you saying that McConnel and Herring aren't remarkable musicians? Because if so you're just flat out wrong.
You don't have to like them or enjoy their take on WSP tunes but one thing that is necessary is to recognize and respect their talent.
