green day's album dookie wasn't that bad. i enjoyed it in junior high but they went straight downhill after that. I wish they weren't headlining voodoo

I don't despise them. It may not be my preference of music (both bands), but by all means, I don't hate them.

ummm....If you are a musician and have any clue about good music, then you wouldn't respect garbage....

I can't speak for AS b/c I haven't really heard much..

As for GD....Dookie was pretty good for what it was at the time...I think Tre Cool is a pretty good drummer, but overplays most of the time....BJA is a shitty singer and mediocre guitar player as is the bassist

Just go watch their performance on the R&R HOF....just awful....BJA just kept screaming "mother frickers"....just obnoxious IMO

GD's music is very simple, repetitive and monotonous for the most part.

I like A7X.. I used to not be a fan, but I heard their song "so far away" and started listening to their other stuff and it really grew on me. Now I find myself jamming out to bat country and other stuff.

bullshite. I am and Greenday do what they do with exceptional skill. Is BJA an esceptional singer. No. Is he a great guitarist? No. Is Dirnt a great bass player? No, but he is solid. Tre Cool is a great drummer and perfect for their music style. BJA is a very good songwriter and has a good vocal style that works with his music. He writes excellent stripped down pop songs that are memorable. He has been doing it for 20 years and has fans over a couple of generations.

You don't have to like them, but shite they have turned out good music for a long time. That is more than can be said for plenty of "more talented" musicians.

Give me a Good song writer instead of someone who can shred.

Art is so subjective. If a song makes you feel something positive, or reflective....its a damn good song. I have heard many simple, repetitive songs that make me feel something, want to dance, go hiking, remember the past...etc.

I don't really think it is their music specifically. It's because they both play up a rock/punk image that neither band really lives up to. With GD there is a strong "sell out" element to people's dislike.

Green Day IS absolute junk.

I don't know how people don't like Aenged Sevenfold. Three songs to hear by them that may convince you that they are talented are:

1). Dear God-- LINK
2). Walk (Cover of Pantera, very well done IMO)-- LINK
3). Seize the Day-- LINK

Seize the Day also has a great message in the video. They say they got the inspiration for that video from the old Guns n' Roses music videos.

Also, a very extremely patriotic band. Critical Acclaim is a true blue "stand up for the troops and piss on propaganda" type song. A little more of a head banging song, but still good. This band is incredibly versatile.

Green Day was good at first, but slowly became garbage. Very simple, repetitive music. As for A7X, I think they're pretty damn good. City of Evil was really good, and while their recent albums haven't quite lived up to CoE, both are still pretty solid

First off, Green Day = shite.

Second, AS is a solid band, but I think you picked three terrible songs. In fact, I think Dear God and StD are two of their worst. I always skip them.

Songs like Almost Easy, Critical Acclaim, Sidewinder and Beast and the Harlot are better examples.

The reason I picked those was to show those that think they are a pure shredding band that they are more than capable of accomplishing different sounds and styles as they play and sing. Everyone can claim that if you just show them their harder stuff like Critical Acclaim.

Dear God has a near country feel to it. Their cover of Walk is (clearly) a cover of a classic done perfectly IMO, and Seize the Day shows they even can have a storytelling quality.

People know they can shred. I was showing that they aren't a one-trick pony.

Because it is music that is targeted towards 15 year olds who hate their parents.

I am of legal drinking age and happen to love my parents very much therefore Greenday and Avenged Sevenfold annoy the piss out of me.

Every Green Day song sounds the same post Dookie. Not to mention they went political which deducts points as well ... I want to listen to music, not be lectured to.
