I've been to a few festivals and ACL is pretty good. It does some things good and some things not so good. It is a little too crowded and the stages seem to be too close to each other, or too close to the food. Don't ever try getting food when a decent band is playing at the stage near the food vendors. It is a HUGE bottleneck and a pain in the arse.

Me personally? I think Sasquatch in Washington is way better than ACL. I also prefer SXSW to ACL.

SXSW is awesome, but it's a lot of work. The free shows require some research to know who's playing where and then standing in lines to get in (or knowing a few bouncers to let you in the back). I do love SXSW, but it's like stumbling on pots of gold here and there.

ACL is great, but I'm glad they're making it two weekends. Hopefully they will sell less tickets per weekend to keep the crowd levels down. It's gotten out of hand.

I'm pimping it a lot this week, but Fun Fun Fun Fest is the best kept secret in Austin. Smaller crowds, great lineup, cooler weather.

I've heard conflicting reports on how many tix will be sold. There's an interview saying just as many but I read some second hand accounts saying that it was later decided it'd be a few less.
