I'm not sure I know how to get those tonearm details. I assume it's factory Pioneer PL-560

It should slide on...you may need a spacer with pre-drilled holes for mounting. I may have one here--I'll check.
I may be able to set it up for you next week or the week between Christmas and NYE (recovering from a surgery this weekend)

When you are live on this board, I will give you my mobile number. You can speak with me regarding my setting up the table.

Thanks, man. I ordered the SH-4 and it should be in Monday. If that doesn't do the trick I will let you know.

Would you recommend getting a receiver with a phono input or getting a separate preamp?
My current receiver is an old Sony--I'll probably put it in my office or bedroom in a month or so and upgrade to something nicer--that doesn't have a preamp phono input.
Also, is there any downside to getting a home theatre receiver and using it as a two channel stereo? My needs are mostly music, but with some movie and sports watching.

I don't think there is any downside to this. Is it 2.1 or 5.2 receiver?

Anyone get any good records for Christmas?
I bought myself a couple of good'ns. Yellowman-Mister Yellowman, Jimmy Smith-Organ Grinder Swing, Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd-Jazz Samba, and Crazy Horse-Loose.
Jazz Samba is freaking great. I recommend any jazz fans to pick that one up.
Also got some new speakers/sub and a new receiver.

It really does. I've been on the lookout for a nice copy for a long time. Santa must have left this one for me at Euclid last week.

Who are the posters here that know Vinyl? I have questions!
My story, if you care....
As a result of recently taking out of storage and setting up my old 1976 Sansui Stereo system and old albums, I am new in searching for, looking at and purchasing old vinyl record albums. I am no novice at understanding what makes albums more valuable than others. I have recently discovered ebay auctions and I may becoming addicted. I started buying albums back in the mid 70's, but like most other people, started buying CDs in the late 80's. I have about 1000 vinyls (mostly Rock) at present and am looking to expand my library.

I am happy to help anyone as they try to get one step closer to "the Holy Grail" of sound.
Your opinion of the system I have had since 1976:
Receiver - Sansui/7070
Turntable - Sansui/SR-929
Speakers - JBL/4311B
added later:
Cassette Deck - JVC/TD-W707
CD Turntable - TEAC/PD-C400
I also have some other 70's equipment I am refurbishing for one of my kids:
Receiver - Marantz/2230
Turntable - Sansui/SR-525
Speakers - DWD/?? (Twin 12" w/Mid and Tweeter)
I was way into all this stuff 30+ years ago and re-kindling my love affair with it all. Thanks in advance.

I need some help from the experts here.
I'm buying my first turntable. I'll be using a pair of audioengine A2 speakers that I already own, so I know that I'll need a phono preamp.
I think I'm either down to the TEAC TN-300 ($229) on ebay. This table has a built in preamp.
TN300
My other option is the Uturn Orbit with the built in Pluto phono preamp they offer ($250).
Which turntable would give me the best sound? Should I be looking somewhere else? My budget is in the $200-250 range. Thanks

I don't know anything about the first one but I have been more than happy with the U Turn orbit. They are handmade right here in America and made per order. Very good quality.
