NIH, normally I'd say stuff about enjoy it and ignore the various noises (reviews, new products etc) but damn man, not even 2 weeks. If you didn't get a screaming deal on the DS Mk 2 I'd look into returning it.
I have a DS Mk 1, bought just over 10 years ago. It got great reviews, then savaged by Amir at ASR. I had to follow my own advice, lol.

Yeah, we’ll see. I’m still within the return window so I’ll give them a call this week and see what they say. I was just browsing their forums and it appears I’m not the only one that’s been caught off guard by this. Everyone figured the DS MKII would have a long life just like the previous version did.

Any alternator upgrade?

At the present, a higher current alternator is not needed. I really only listen to it when driving (motor running), and it’s been good so far.
Audiotec Fischer makes a 1,000,000uf capacitor as an option if needed.

Alright guys.
I'm coming up on year 3 of collecting vinyl.
I was gifted an ATLP60XBT and there isn't much you can do to upgrade this. I don't see myself slowing down so I want to get a new turntable. I want to keep Bluetooth and this limits my options.
Before someone cries about BT, this is just so I can listen to records on the back porch. Inside the house it is wired to a sound system.
Now looking at AT, I do really like this ATLPW50BT. It's got the wood base and you can change out the stylus or needle on them.
But.. they do make a much cheaper one now. ATL70XBT. It seems more like a new version of mine that you can change the stylus out on.
Is it worth doing the more expensive one? Or if anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears.
Here are the pics of them.

Get a fluance RT-85 and I’m sure someone makes a preamp with BT capability.

The problem with the 50 is that it is fully manual. That’s a problem if you’re listening outside.
With that in mind, I might just buy the 70 and upgrade to the best cartridge I could afford.
Also, have you thought about keeping what you have specifically for the Bluetooth outside and then getting a really nice turntable for indoor listening?

I thought about having auto return.
Which limits my options too.
Because there are times I’m on the grill and don’t go change it rt away.
But at does make a $100 thing that pops the tone arm up for you. Or you can get a much cheaper knockoff on Amazon.
So I haven’t been specifically dead set on finding an auto one.
There are also websites you can buy different brands with an upgrade already done to them. But I don’t know how trustworthy the sites are when I can just go to Best Buy and buy an AT and return it if something was wrong with it.

I don’t know if I read it here or another forum, but they said when looking at turntables look up the price of the stylus it comes with. If it’s a cheap one to replace. Move on.
But with the 70 you can get the $200 one and put it on there and it is $300 less than the 50.
