Man that looks like a killer couple of records. Nice!
I love all music but I know very little about Jazz and blues stuff. I love listening to it but know nothing about it. Every time he posts something, I head to youtube and listen to it.
Dude is educating me and he doesnt even know it. And I appreciate it. ..

40 years ago yesterday, Quincy and Michael unleashed this cultural phenomenon onto the world. Very glad they did.

1978- Arista

Mingus Ah Um
2010- Music on Vinyl
This is the unedited versions and mixed from the original 3 track tapes. Oh, and btw this is currently in the blowout bin at deep discount for $15 bucks!
Sound is spectacular and sounds better than some of my Mofi/AP records that are 5x the price. Get it

Another amazing record currently in the blowout bin for $15. I have an OG pressing of this, but it’s noisy. This will be my new player.
At $15, there’s no reason for anybody not to have this jazz classic in their collection.

Curse you sir... I say CURSE YOU.
I'm supposed to be holding back on physical purchases, running out of space... but that Mingus and a couple of other things... I'm helpless it's not my fault!

I’ve added about 70 albums to my TIDAL cue this year—almost all of them came from BigOrangeBri, river_man, and 45acp. Just between the 3 of them you could have a lifetime of great records.

On now…
M.J.
What a great frigging record this is! Beginning to end, every track is good. Great bass lines/grooves—Lady in my Life has a killer groove—great guitar work—Steve Lukather, the Porcaro brothers (Toto), EVH…and Rod Temperton writing about half of it.
This record would be a shell of itself without Quincy Jones.

Lol. I had forgotten it was there. Put it up when I was posting more with the clowns on the main board.

Hallelujah. Louis Johnson’s bass work on the album is next level. The way the groove drops at the end of Lady of my Life…….Baby Be Mine is my personal favorite that no one talks about……..Gotta be Starting Something starts the album like a smack in the mouth. Amazing. Quincy is a genius.
And damn it, I thought my CBS Halfspeed would be all I’d ever need. Y’all are gonna force me to buy the MoFi.

I’m way late to this thread.
I’m ready to start over with a new system. I have nothing now.
I’ve owned a lot of crap and some very fine stuff….
No tubes except
Audio Research preamp
Sony es
Bryston
Krell
Harmon Kardin
Harmon Kardin (high end can’t remember the name)
Speakers
Bose (yes Bose)
Revox
Kef
Infinity several models (kappa 9)
JBL
ADS
B&W
Thiel (favorite lost to Katrina)
Really wanted Spendors (never owned)
Forgot most of the other equipment I’ve owned.
Was in the business and was able to buy at cost or deep discounts
Not ready for streaming till sound quality is better than CD
Not sure I’m ready for vinyl
(Prove me wrong please)
I’ve been out of the “game” for awhile.
I am very well aware of the addiction
I’m thinking for price, quality, and sound…
Musical Fidelity M5si integrated amp $2000
Music Fidelity M3scd $1600
Dyneaudio Special 40 speakers $2600
Maybe go to vinyl later never had it
Rega PC 3 a good starting point?
Suggestions would be appreciated
