That is a great record. Steve Jordan rocks. Saw Clapton live with Jordan on drums. John Mayer n actually rocks in this trio.

My mind is blown with all that cassette deck info....what is old is new again!
Pretty cool all those cassettes were available out there...I have no idea where all mine are; haven't seen them in a couple decades
My dad had quite the collection ruined in the flood. While not having that much monetary value or even use anymore, it was truly one of the more depressing losses for me because of the memories tied up in them.

Fiona Apple - Tidal
VMP May 2017 2x45rpm 12"
Luckily realized it was 45rpm before depression set in.

That record has some crazy low bass notes.

It does! From my understanding this is the first time the album has been issued on vinyl.

Is that a recent issue? Matt Chamberlain's drumming puts that shite way over the top.

It is, there's a record of the month club called Vinyl Me Please that sends out a limited release album each month, this was May's. You get the option of subbing out for a past month's selection if you choose, so far they've sent out pretty good selections. Otherwise you'll need to hit up Ebay or Discogs for it. If interested i can send a referral, it's decent for getting something you may not have normally bought for yourself.

I originally couldn't find a quality disc cleaner (my dad's old school discwasher set the bar), so I bought a brush that was rated pretty highly on Amazon. Now I have carbon bristles in the grooves of at least one album (I say at least one because it was very obvious on a white vinyl).
I found the GrooveWasher and decided to buy it, but I guess compressed air is my best bet to try to remove the fibers in the grooves.

As far as I've found, the only way to get a really good clean is to spend the money on one of the vacuum units. I've got the Record Doctor V ($200) and it does pretty good, using Turgikleen. Perhaps some other folks have dropped more serious money on some of the higher end units.

Making progress...albeit very slowly.
The studs are up for the added wall. The garage doors are double sealed shut.
There is a small "nook" that will have a door and will house my workbench. The small square window is coming out and 2 larger ones are being added to either side of it.
There is a crap load of drywall, but I am double-layering it--on every wall.
All the tall brown boxes are the new cabinets and shelves.
The room is 21'x19' (after the new wall is added).

Hey Marco...
Got a buddy starting his residency in Memphis and is going to be in an apartment. I've tried to help him out a bit since I have a tad bit of a idea of what's going on now... he is set on shelf speakers, said he will be on the top floor, so he would prefer not having towers for now. Basically doesn't want sound to travel through is what I'm gathering.
He researched a good bit and likes the ELAC B6s. He doesn't want to drop too much on things, but I recommended him getting an integrated amp.
Thing is the ELACs are $249 now on musicdirect and will take up to 120 watts. Any suggestions on a little integrated that will push them well? That being said, he said he generally uses his iPad connected through an aux port to listen to music. So, I'm not 100% sure he really needs an integrated. Anyways... any suggestions would be appreciated!
Oh... got on the beer a good bit last Saturday while smoking a brisket for the Tigers 1st game in Omaha. Kinda tested out the speakers my buddy brought over a bunch of vinyl and we listened for a few hours after the game with it turned to the right a good bit... shite the vandys and vena sound good cranked up!
