I made the exact same post on the TV board. Seriously wondered if it was a skit. That Reflector fiasco was a pretentious, soulless attempt at.. Nothing, really.

bullshite.

I've been around them a bunch and they've never been anything other than kind, gracious and downright awesome to everyone.

Great group of guys and gals.

I literally bumped into Will, Win, and Regine after Jazz Fest and they were nothing but nice to me.

I was about to say (from viewing the SNL performance to get a feel of what the op is talking about ) they seem like a band who's been in an echo chamber of how great they are and ruined what they had. I really liked their first two albums, and then I kind of lost track of them. I really respect Wayne Coyne, and from reading his quote, it sort of seems that I got the right impression of them.

That crap really annoys me. I treat everyone I meet with a basic level of respect.

Wayne Coine is one person. I've never heard this from anyone else so I will take it as a grain of salt.

I thought the SNL performance was great and I think this new album could be better than The Suburbs, which is their best work IMO.

Your mom is just mad she hasn't made a decent album in over 10 years. The Lips are still making good music and putting on one of the best live shows ever. But to the original point, Wayne is widely known as one of the nicest guys in the industry and for him to go off on these guys like that would require a level of douchery the likes of which we've never seen on planet earth.

Hell I like their music but I have no doubt that they are shitty people.

Have you ever met any of them? It's simply not true. Ol' Wayne sounds mad about something for sure but his anger must be misguided because they are seriously the nicest people. Not just based on how they treat me, but everyone else around me. Not an isolated incident, either. Sure, that guy may have had a less than ideal experience...everyone has bad days. But to brand them as shitty people based on one guy's angry rant (especially after plenty of others have had nothing but nice things to say) seems pretty unreasonable.

Solid argument, idiot.

P.S. I'm a girl, not your broseph.

Hence the "whore-mouth" comment. Figured one of them had to land.

And I really don't mind if they're jerks or nice people, I'll never meet them. I hope they are nice, the world is better with more nice people. I just thought it was interesting coming from such a well known "good guy". But hey who knows? There's a good chance Wayne was on another planet when he gave that interview, he could have thought he was talking about the smurfs who broke into his green room.
