Anyone Going to See The Afghan Whigs / Built to Spill in New Orleans Wednesday?

Would love to see the Whigs at the Civic but on a Wednesday night? I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I'm going but only to see the Whigs. It's a co-headline tour with BTS and I think BTS is playing last that night. Early night works for me.

I didn’t realize that. I’d definitely be leaving after the Whigs in that case, as well.

While I agree, have you seen them recently as a 3 piece? I know people on here were disappointed the last time they came to BR and weren't aware that they only had 3 members. They are still playing as a 3 piece it looks like. I watched a video from a few days ago and it just doesn't feel like the BTS performances that I've known for the last 10 years that I've watched them.

I saw them last night in Dallas. First off, I just can't get into the Whigs. I hoped I would like them better live but the opposite is what happened. As for the 3 piece BtS, they opened with Randy Described Eternity and that song needed the other 2 guitarist. But after that it was a damn good show. Maybe my brain was filling in the missing textures the missing guys added but Doug sounded great.
