Anybody ever listen to The Mavericks?

I'm not a big country music guy, but bought a greatest hits years ago and enjoy every song on it. There music is a mixture of country, latin, and zydeco. Broke out the CD for a road trip last weekend and enjoyed it just as much as I did years ago. I have watched some of their live performances on youtube and they seem to be one of those bands that are even better live. I don't ever remember hearing them a lot on the radio when the greatest hits songs were popular. Also noticed they seem to be pretty big in England and draw larger crowds there than they do at home.

I think they had a bad falling out and swore never to reunite, but they have now and just released a new album.
Their lead signer, Raul Malo, has an outstanding voice and is one of my favorite solo artists. Check out "Games Lovers Play" on Youtube- he's outstanding and the Mavericks are one of my favorites as well.

They were pretty good in the 90s, definitely non-typical for a country band. Malo could sing, too. A lot of people compared him to Roy Orbison.

I dvr'd the Jazz Festival two years ago on AXS and they were easily my favorite act. Just fantastic.
They did a version of Blue Bayou that made me want to slap the shite out of Linda Ronstadt.

Great band, and Malo has a helluva voice. Can sing the hell out of some Roy Orbison tunes as well. Very underrated.
